Recording Buildings

The group has recorded over 1800 buildings to date. For each building studied, the group produces a measured survey with plans, drawings and a written report. The originals are held in the group's own archive, and a copy is sent to the owner/occupier. With their agreement a copy is also sent to the group's public archive at the Brotherton Library, University of Leeds.

To see the list of buildings recorded by the group, follow the 'Building Reports' link on the menu to the right.

Copies of reports on buildings recorded by the group are available for copying or for consultation in the Special Collections section at the Brotherton Library, University of Leeds. Reports are held there under three references:

  • YAS MS 1077: Pre 1974 reports from NYCVBSG.
  • YAS MS 1275: Reports 1 to 1503 (produced 1970-1995).
  • YAS MS 1627: Reports 1504 onwards (1996 onwards).

Please note that to access the reports you need to give at least two working days notice.

In case of any problems or to give feedback on this service, please email the YVBSG Archivist, archivist@yvbsg.org.uk.
